A. Trading Procedures
*Upon the completion of a deal, the person who has less references on this board shall send to the person with more references on this board unless agreed upon by both members. You have fewer refs; you send first.
NOTE: There is to be no waiting for references in order to make the other person send first. I NEVER want to see a situation where, for example, one person has 8 references and the other has 9; and the person with 8 references says, "Wait two days; two people are leaving refs for me". Who sends first is determined when the deal is MADE. If one person has 8 refs and the other has 12, and they agree on a trade, I don't care if 500 people post references for the guy that had 8 -- the guy that had 8 still sends first.
*If for some reason you can not complete your end of the bargain (couldn't get to post office, ran out of stamps, etc.), TELL THE OTHER PERSON ABOUT IT. If you're up-front and honest, you'll most likely not be penalized.
*When posting trade lists, do not post many, many trade lists. You only need 2 or 3 up at the same time -- if one gets buried back to like page 10 or something, that's okay -- you can post a new one -- but if you have more than 2 topics on the front page, then something's wrong. If you post an unreasonable amount of topics, expect them to be deleted.
B. Leaving/Getting References
YOU ARE NOT TO LEAVE REFERENCES FOR YOURSELF. The other person posts the reference for you once he/she has received the cards. If you attempt to post a reference for yourself, you will automatically be penalized 3 references with no chance of getting them back for not reading this rule. If you go into negative references and attempt to sign up under a different username to trade here, that warrants a ban on all of your usernames.
UPDATE 3/27: Note on reference scams: In addititon to fake references, sending people free cards or trading common for common trades that have no real value (meaning we're not talking MST, Starter deck versions of Axe of Despair/Premature Burial/Swords/Kuriboh...) are also considered reference scams. These are caution/badlist worthy.
CLARIFICATION: Common for common trades with a PURPOSE still count. For example...MSTs, Wabokus, Gravekeeper's cards...what I'm trying to prevent here are like "one bad non-effect 1400 ATKer for another" type of trades.
C. Caution List Procedures and Violations
Traders on the Caution List are not necessarily rippers, but they have made mistakes in their dealings here. Traders on the Caution List must send first. Once a person has traded twice successfully, they are removed from the Caution List.
In order for one person to put another person on the Caution List, he/she must show me PROOF (e-mails, post office receipts, a link to his/her trading page, etc.) that the other person screwed up.
The following can get you put on the Caution List:
*Lying about the day you sent your cards
*Lying about the condition of your cards (intentional)
*Not responding once a trade has been confirmed
*Bad packaging of cards, resulting in damage
*Giving someone more than one reference (intentionally)
*Backing out of an auction if you are the winner
*Changing the terms of an auction after a bid is placed, if you are the seller (Unless there was a typo and you are fixing it)
Update 3/27 *Giving away free cards or doing common/common trades with no real value to try to get references
Update 4/29 *Backing out of a trade for a better offer -- THIS IS A FOUR-TRADE CAUTIONLIST PENALTY. If you do it twice, you may (but not in all cases) have your refs penalized, or even reset to zero. This is something that no trader should ever do. Once a deal is final, THAT'S IT -- you don't even consider the card yours any more once you've confirmed and hit enter in the IM window or clicked send on the private message.
D. Bad List Violations and Procedures
It really takes something bad to get put on the Bad List. Once you are on the Bad List, you can NOT be taken off, except in extraordinary circumstances. If you plan to trade with someone on this list, he/she MUST send first, end of story.
The Bad List requires a higher standard of proof. I can't just take your word for it if you say "so and so ripped me" without providing e-mails. I shall also give the other person a chance to respond to me privately about the situation.
The following can get you put on the Bad List:
*Stealing cards (getting cards sent to you and not sending back, also known as Ripping)
*Sending fake cards
*Giving an address that is not your own
*False references (this includes leaving refs when no trading has occured)
*Impostering (trying to pose as someone else that has a good reputation)
*Repeatedly refusing to send first when you have fewer references
*Multiple Caution List violations
E. The Japboisushi Rule
IS DEAD! No trader may have this rule in!
F. Rules concerning Auctions
Some confusions concerning auctions...
You have to have 5 refs to put up an auction in the first place.
You have to have 10 refs to put up a reserve. (This is lowered from 15)
You have to have 15 refs to put up an autowin. (This is lowered from 20)
NEW: You have to have 20 refs to end your auction early, unless your card was stolen or damaged. And if it was damaged, I need proof. If your parents suddenly said you can't trade online, I demand to speak with your parents.
If you have 20 references, and someone offers you cash and nothing else in a bid, and that bid wins, you can make that person send first even if they have more references. (This is a VERY rare occurence)
You must specify a date your auction ends. ONCE SOMEONE BIDS ON YOUR AUCTION, YOU CANNOT CHANGE THIS FOR ANY REASON.
Once someone bids on your auction, you can't change anything about it -- how long it lasts, how many points it takes to get a card, the point values of cards...you can post new point values for cards you didn't have originally (like...if you didn't have Raigeki in your want list but someone offered one and you'd take it for 10 points, you can add that).
If you are eligible to post a reserve, you must specify what the reserve is!
G. Temporary Rules and Notes
1. Concerning "TenTheGeneration" / Myuu's Board
There are only certain situations where I will transfer references from that trading board to this one. If you were a member of Myuu's board PREVIOUS TO THE EZBOARD'S ORIGINAL OPENING, I will transfer those references for you.
HOWEVER -- if you are still a current trader on Myuu's board, I will not transfer any of those newer refs. Why? It's a slap in the face. "Oh, I don't care enough about Pojo to use its new board, but I still want my refs from here to count on Pojo." It doesn't work like that. If you trade here, you have no reason to trade anywhere else and expect that those references will count here.
2. Name Changes
There is really no reason for anyone to have changed their name on this board from what it was on the ezBoard, minus illegal names (you could use 3 character names on ezBoard, but not here, etc.)
If you changed your name, and do not IMMEDIATELY (meaning within 24 hours of signup) PM me on BOTH boards from BOTH names, you do not get to transfer your references.
This means that you have to send me an ezInbox message on Pojo's EZBoard from your old name, and a private message on this board from your new name. Why? I have to make sure you are who you say you are.
3. Stupidity Penalties
Effective Friday 2/9/04, the following things will cost you one reference for flat out stupidity or being annoying:
*Posting "Plzzzzz" or anything like that in a post giving a reference to someone else
*Asking why your refs have not been added to the list. I already said up above that if the person has posted the ref for you, you can include it in your ref count even if it's not part of the main list yet.
*E-mailing me asking why the list isn't updated yet
*POSTING MORE THAN ONE REFERENCE FOR THE SAME PERSON.
(Why the stiff penalty? No matter HOW many trades you make with one person, you only get one reference. Whether you trade with a person 1 time or 10, they're still going to vouch for you either way, but that's only one person)
*Misspelling the screen name of the person for whom you are leaving a ref.
Reason: Now that more and more members are coming to the board with similar screen names, it just isn't worth our time to go to your trading threads to look up the exact spelling of the name. It's also simply pure laziness if you misspell the name. So please, just take a little time to double check you spelled the name correctly. Copy and paste the name if you must, but just spell it correctly.

I. What constitutes a trade?
Recently, it has come into question as to when a trade is official. I thought it would be wise to set up some guidelines -- because if someone has second thoughts before the end of the trade, and the trade isn't confirmed, a cautionlist violation can NOT be issued. Therefore, the following must occur before a trade is official:
*Exchange of Address
*Confirmation on the deal by both sides
Example: Person A says "I'll trade you my non-mint Don Zaloog for your Goblin Attack Force".
Person B says "Okay".
*Confirmation on who is sending first, and any shipping options
Example:
Person A says "I have 12 refs, you have 8. You would be sending first."
Person B says "I'll send out tomorrow."
Shipping options example:
Person A says "I need those cards by Saturday...is it possible for us to both send Priority Mail?"
Person B says "I don't need the cards that quickly...but if you reimburse me, I'll send. You can either send me cash, or throw in that D. D. Warrior Lady."
Person A says "I'll add the D D Warrior Lady."
As with most rules, there are exceptions:
*If you post that you'll make a trade, and the other person accepts, and the other person IMMEDIATELY backs out, as if joking or taunting, that's illegal, and will probably get you cautionlisted.
*If you exchanged addresses, and agreed on a deal, but one trader tries to back out because they would have to send first, that's illegal and a DEFINITE cautionlist, if not a badlist.
J. No Sale-Only Topics
You may no longer post "Sell Only" topics in the Trade Forums. Pojo pays a lot of money to keep these forums running, and it isn't fair that people waste his bandwith making money for themselves. This includes "I'm getting out of the game, sellling all cards!" topics. Simultaneous trading/selling on your trade list is fine, as long as selling isn't your primary goal (There's Ebay for that). Clear on this? I hope so.
(Just a quote from someone...if Pojo pays so much money to keep the forums up, why are they always down? ROFL) But seriously, if you're going to do nothing but sell, eBay is easier. It helps you keep track of who you're dealing with, their reputations, etc...
K. Overused Usernames
Many people are making usernames very similar to ones in existence. This makes it very confusing for ones who are leaving refs, and confusing for me (or anyone else who may update the list).
Having said that, DO NOT sign up for an account under any of the following usernames:
Anything starting with "DarkRuler"
Anything starting with VampireLord
Anything that looks similar to Chaos Soldier
Anything that starts with BlackLuster
Basically, we have enough problems with this as is; an "Airknight" and an "Airknight3423" is rather confusing...if someone forgets those numbers, the ref will be given to the wrong person.
L. Special Icons
Sometimes, you may notice icons next to a username on the list that aren't asterisks/star chips. There aren't many right now, but there may be in the future. Here is an explanation of the ones currently used:
$ means that the person has completed a trade with me that comprised of over $100 in value. A person who has an $ by their name is usually quite trustworthy with higher-value trades you may otherwise think twice on.
If a person has more than one $ by their name it means that the trade was at least 100 dollars times the number of $'s. $$ = a trade valued at $200, and so on.
Sc means the person is a pocket scale user. This person will tend to have better cards than many of our other members, as they almost never pull Normal Rares. Likewise, expect that they will have significantly less Normal Rares than anything else. However, think twice if any of these users are trying to sell unopened packs.
M. DarkMage screwed up?
If your refs are incorrect, make sure that I posted an update after they were left. If you got refs left for you on the 8th of a month, and I didn't update yet, don't e-mail me on the 10th asking where your references are.
However, I do sometimes make mistakes -- last time I checked, I was a human and not a machine; Limiter Removal and 7 Completed don't work on me. If I forgot to update a reference of yours, post a reply giving me a link to the page it is on.
